Joe.St.Johanser This comic opera in 2 acts is eminently suitable for small chorus based opera companies.

The music is sophisticated but not excessively difficult. Audiences are appreciative of the drama and the approachable music.

Of 'Spem' one reviewer said 'When I heard the first violin humming the main theme of the first movement I knew Joe had a hit'.

Parts and vocal scores are available - fees very reasonable and some subsidy may be available for performances- please enquire.

The plot revolves around an amateur theatre group who discover an unknown early opera (by Thomas Tallis with libretto by William Shakespeare based on his poem 'Venus and Adonis')

The two leads are having relationship difficulties because the man wants children and the woman does not.
